GENERAL SUMMARY

Analysis of geophysical and geological data to locate gas and oil deposits by performing the following duties.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Studies and interprets 2-and 3-dimentionial seismic data and geological data to generate drillable oil and gas prospects.
* Evaluates seismic data for lease sales, farm-ins, farm-outs, and appraisal projects.
* Screens and evaluates externally generated oil and gas prospects and makes recommendations concerning potential opportunities.
* Evaluates geophysical data, and constructs surface and subsurface maps and geological cross-sections, using well logs and seismic data.
* Makes presentations of farm-outs to other oil and gas companies.
* Must abide by all QHSE policies and guidelines
* Perform other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer with the following software: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Lotus Notes, OWL database, and other proprietary software.

Written and verbal fluency in English

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Ability to apply principles of structural geology and stratigraphy to exploration projects. A working knowledge of seismic stratigraphy and regional concepts.

Ability to visualize and think in 3-dimentional space; to recognize potential traps for hydrocarbons; to interpret well logs; to self-motivate and be a self-starter.

Proficiency with seismic interpretation workstations; Synthetic Seismogram Generation (GDC), AVO Interpretation program.

General knowledge of seismic data acquisition and processing.

Ability to effectively access information from the Internet.

Ten years related experience and/or training with at least 5 years in the deep water Gulf of Mexico.

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Geophysics or Geology.

GENERAL SUMMARY

To conduct reservoir engineering studies, to manage the reservoir exploitation and operation, to perform economic evaluation of exploratory, development and producing oil and gas fields by performing the duties below.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Compute company’s reserves estimates under the SEC and SPE criteria.
* Perform reservoir engineering simulation , material balance, and decline curve analysis studies and propose alternatives for oil and gas field development.
* Design, evaluate, recommend and implement optimal reservoir production/injection plans.
* Evaluate partner’s proposals for reservoir development and operation and recommend actions to the management.
* Evaluate well logs.
* Design and interpret well tests and pressure gradient data.
* Evaluate core data to determine rock properties.
* Interpret PVT data analysis.
* Monitor production, drilling and completion operations.
* Propose completion and work over interventions in wells.
* Maintain geologic, reservoir and production database.
* Perform economic analysis for exploration, development and production projects.
* Coordinate the preparation of the annual E&P budget and to monitor budget expenditures.
* Maintain E&P Portfolio of future investments opportunities including production reserve, economic and risk evaluations.
* Prepare and make technical presentations based on PowerPoint slides
* Must abide by all QHSE policies and guidelines
* Perform other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Ten to fifteen years of experience in the above Reservoir Engineering activities plus:

Ability to work with little or no supervision and within a team; sharing activities with other professionals, participating on peer reviews, reviewing tasks performed by others, giving and accepting feedback.

Skills in training new engineers and sharing knowledge is fundamental.

Knowledge of reservoir and oilfield programs and databases

Knowledge of onshore and offshore development options, with main focus on GoM operations

Basic knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Agencies demands.

Knowledge of risk analysis techniques.

In depth experience in Reservoir Simulation. Extensive experience with at least one of these simulators: Eclipse, VIP, CMG (Black Oil and compositional)> extensive experience with Petresl (reservoir engineering modulus).

In depth experience with fluid characterization via Equation of State.

Written and verbal fluency in English. Portuguese and Spanish (desirable)

Ability to operate

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Petroleum Engineering from a four-year college or university

M. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering with focus in Reservoir Engineering is necessary

Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Engineering with focus in Reservoir Engineering is a plus
