Post Doctoral Research Scientist - Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University

Post Doctoral Research Scientist in Earthquake Seismology:

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral research position in Earthquake Seismology. The successful applicant will participate in and help lead analysis and interpretation of broadband on-land and ocean-bottom seismic data from several regional field deployments at active plate boundaries, in subduction zones and rifts.  These data sets allow a wide variety of modern imaging methods to elucidate the interaction between surface, tectonic, and upper-mantle processes, and characterization of seismic sources in them. The successful candidate will join dynamic group of geophysicists working on a wide range of interrelated problems in Earth structure and dynamics, earthquake-source studies. The position is a full-time 1-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation and growth depending on progress and availability of funding.

Requirements:
A recent Ph.D. in seismology, or a related discipline is required. Experience in computer programming is highly preferred, as well as research experience directly relevant to the analyses and interpretation of seismic data as described above.

Search will stay open for 30 days after the ad appears.  To apply:
Applicants should submit a personal statement describing research experience and interests, including specific reference to the projects listed here, a curriculum vitae, and the names and addresses of three references, to:
