Postdoctoral Position(s) in Atmospheric Composition-Climate-Air Quality, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University



The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University invites applications for one or more Postdoctoral Research Scientist positions in the research group of Professor Arlene Fiore at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University in Palisades, NY. The successful candidate(s) will investigate linkages among global atmospheric composition, climate, and U.S. air quality, using the GFDL chemistry-climate model and various observational datasets. Opportunities exist for collaborative work at the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, NJ and in support of the newly formed NASA Air Quality and Applied Sciences Team.



Candidates are encouraged to apply as long as a PhD in atmospheric science or a related field has been granted at the time of hiring. Some experience analyzing in situ observations, satellite data, or applying atmospheric chemistry, air quality, or climate models is desirable.



The position (s) is a full time 1 year appointment with the expectation of continuation for a second year, as well as future growth depending on progress and availability of funding.
